Meet The Singers

Matthew graduated with a degree in Music from Cambridge University in 2008. In 2009 he completed his MMus in Composition at Cardiff University, where he will also continue to study for his PhD in Composition. Matthew is also a keen solo pianist and accompanist, in 2008 he was appointed as accompanist to Merthyr Tydfil Ladies Choir. Matthew thoroughly enjoys the company of Con Voce and he has dedicated a composition to them called "To a Skylark", based on the poem by William Wordsworth.

Christopher Aylward

Chris graduated from Bournemouth University in 2006 with a BSc in Product Design & Engineering. Chris has been involved in many musical activities, varying from Merthyr Tydfil Youth Brass Band, LLwydcoed Silver Band, Afon Tâf School Choir and Productions along with Mountain Ash Choir.

He currently works for MFC Survival in the Rhondda Valley as a product designer. Chris is a fond member of Con Voce.

CONCERTS

Shelly studied Welsh and Film & Television at the University of Wales Aberystwyth.

She graduated in 2001 and in 2002 pursued a secondary welsh P.G.C.E.

Shelly has been a member of many choirs including Côr Pantycelyn, Aberystwyth Choral Society, Four Countries Youth Choir and Mountain Ash Choral Society she also played the Violin with Cardiff Philharmonic and Rhondda Symphony Orchestras.

Shelly is currently teaching Welsh in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Shelley Jenkins

Ryan graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Music and returned to Cardiff to complete a PGCE from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff in 2007. Ryan currently works as a teacher in the South Wales area. As well as singing with Con Voce, Ryan also plays Double Bass with Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra. Ryan has been involved with many ensembles, including the UEA choir, UEA Symphony Orchestra, and Norwich Pops Orchestra. He has also worked with the likes of Sir Colin Davis of the London Symphony Orchestra, and Jirí Belohláhvek of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
